The Zig Zag Sewing Team
We are proud to host a 2 day sewing workshop with renowned textile artist Tracey Sims. Tracey is an award winning artist with over 30 years of experience.
Tracey combines her passion for both painting and machine embroidery in this workshop.Tracey has written seven successful books on painting. Her introduction to Urban Zundt meant that Tracey’s life underwent an exciting and fullfilling deviation as this allowed her paintings to come to life through machine embroidery.
For those of you familiar with Urban Zundt designs you will know how beautiful they are. For those of you who aren’t familiar you are in for a wonderful treat.
Tracey has created this beautiful table runner for workshops in the USA and we are proud to be the first store in Australia to offer it to you, our lucky family. This beautiful workshop project features many interesting techniques including stenciling, machine embroidery, piping and pintucking.
It also features paint washes inside the outline embroidery designs and on top of the embroidery to enhance the realism. All the techniques are very simple and suitable for all skill levels…no painting experience needed.
You will learn about colour value contrast and how this enhances the realistic appearance of embroidery. This knowledge will also help you to make the choices needed to change the colours of intricate embroideries.
You do not need to have any painting experience to attend.
